In a recent incident, a daycare in Lancaster County fell victim to an air conditioning unit theft. Watch the video below for the full story.
The unit was unlawfully disconnected, with wires and piping deliberately severed, leaving the Kinder Care facility in Willow Street without proper cooling. The theft came to light when employees attempted to activate the AC, only to realize it was non-functional.
Authorities suspect the motive behind such thefts is the valuable metals found within these large AC units, including copper, platinum, and others. The thieves are targeting these metals for resale.
